IOSH Working Safely
Introduction
This course is designed as an introduction to health and safety in the workplace for staff. It focuses on the basic principles of health and safety at work.
Who is this course for?
All staff in an organisation. This course can also form part of an induction training programme.
Course Objectives
By the end of the training delegates will be able to:
- Identify common hazards in the workplace.
- Be aware that some types of injury or ill-health can occur after prolonged exposure.
- Identify factors that constitute a satisfactory working environment.
- Appreciate how individual actions may endanger colleagues or those passing through the workplace.

Exam format
Examination paper, comprising multiple-choice questions lasting a maximum of 45 minutes, and a workplace safety assessment project undertaken at the delegate’s own workplace using a pro-forma guidance sheet.
