Introduction
The Level 2 Awards in food safety are sector specific and have been developed in response to the requirements of the Sector Skills Councils and the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). They are designed to address the food safety needs of the catering, manufacturing and retail sectors.

The course is designed for anyone working in a catering, manufacturing or retail setting where food is prepared, cooked and handled.

- Food safety hazards
- Temperature control
- Refrigeration, chilling and cold holding

- Food handling
- Principles of safe food storage
- Cleaning
